Disco never dies!

Print ad for award winning Vancouver law firm Miller Titerle + Co. With the world having been on a roller coaster the last couple years, MT+Co. wanted an ad that was fun and carefree and reflected their beliefs in embracing uniqueness and tolerance (and no, they do normally not dress like this). So when Creative Director Mike Catherall from Immersion Creative and I (Peter Holst) were contacted to come up with their next conceptual print ad, we put our heads together and decided that it was time to get groovy, because who doesn’t love disco!

Photographed at the Fortune Sound Club over two consecutive days.

We had a stellar team on this project, whom we could not have pulled it off without. See credits below.

Made it into luerzer’s archive...again!

To get work into Luerzer’s Archive is a bit of a benchmark in the commercial photography work. The publication has been around for 20 plus years and showcases some of the best in advertising photography from around the world. Or as it states on the cover of the magazine ‘200 BEST AD PHOTOGRAPHERS WORLDWIDE’. So needless to say, it’s a trill and an honour to get some of my work featured in the publication…twice within a year! And to think that it was even in contention for the cover (yes, it’s true)!

The ad was made in collaboration with Immersion Creative.

Made it into Luerzer’s archive!

This was a big one for me….I managed to get into the world renowned and highly esteemed publication Luerzer’s Archive showcasing some of today’s very best work in advertising photography globally. And not only that…I had a whooping 6 pieces in the same issue, including 4 that made up a stunning double page spread. Quite the honour to be in such fine company.

In addition to that I even lucked out and got featured in their whos-who section on their website…that about a nice run! Here is the link in case you should be curious: https://www.luerzersarchive.com/en/article/999/whos-who:-peter-holst.html

Coquitlam Continued Education celebrated their 50th anniversary with a humorous campaign taking us back to the groovy early 1970’s. The campaign aimed at recruiting new students has run as transit bus shelter ads as well as ads on the exterior of busses in the Vancouver Tricity area.

Well that was different…

Conceptual print ad for Miller Titerle.

So yeah…2020 was a crazy year. So maybe not so strange that one of the craziest print ad I have ever had the joy to be part of creating also was brought to life towards the end of that cursed year. When your client calls you and says that they want something unique for a print ad for Canadian Lawyer, and you have already had them on horse back in Gastown and repelling from army helicopters over downtown Vancouver…well…then the natural next step would seem to be a post apocalyptic mad max inspired law firm ad.
